Indeed that's sad - for most of the seventies you could find out every week in the questionnaires that footballers favourite food was steak and chips. It was only after '78 that occasionally a footballer could admit to eating 'Chinese'. Very talented but temperamental footballers that liked too much booze would mention Italian food and wine. Also it took years for me to work out what 'miscellaneous' meant...or even how to say it.
Average by Intention.

I actually remember looking up the word 'miscellaneous' after reading it in Shoot. Beans on toast was another favourite meal. Or I think maybe at that point 'favourite' had become 'pre-match'. And lots of players also would state that they would have been postmen or hairdressers had they not turned pro.

It wasn't ever really good after the early eighties I reckon. It was a product of an innocent era, and what it had become the last few years was an embarrassment, no better than another club mag or TV station (and I do mean your lot BB).

I actually agree there... MUTV is bloody tedium at times, and I can count on one hand how many times I have bought United's mag....
FourFourTwo however is piled 10 years deep in various cupboards at home

FourFourTwo is great. It's got me through many a long haul flight.
