I'm looking for a place where I can get a shipshape haircut, and a cracking head/shoulder/face massage to boot. A week hunched over the laptop in a grimy work cubicle has me feeling like a cross between Captain Caveman & Quasimodo. Can anyone recommend one?

1. Japanese salon in Causeway Bay near Sogo.
2. Shenzhen (or similar cities in Dirtland). They massage your other head. Not sure about the haircut though.

Well thanks, but I'm not going to traipse up to Shenzhen, negotiate a Friday evening border crossing, then schlepp all the way back, just for a haircut & shoulder massage. Kind of defeats the stress relief objective.

Giant, If you find one - let me know - I used to go to Barber Minami in Singapore for the cut throat razor shave, full head massage, ear cleaning, hair cut - all above board. Never found anything similar in HK - which is a great pity.

The Grace Hotel and the salons around the Arab Quarter of Bangkok generally provide this kind of service too. The Middle Eastern clientele are very discerning in this respect, resulting in most excellent customer service.

The juniors at the salon I go to give decent head and neck massage and my very cute hairdresser usually gives me a bit of shoulder massage too...

Yes, you'll sometimes get this in HK I find. But I want a place where it's officially part of the service, so they won't skip it if the place is busy or do a half assed job.

At home. But she loses interest after about 10 minutes or so, unless I pretend to be particularly grumpy. And I wouldn't let her loose on me with a pair of scissors.

My man hates going to the hairdressers in HK, he said they never gets it done right. So he's got the service at home - our helper (who's brilliant at haircut and manicure and yes she's brilliant) cuts his hair and I do the massage bit.
