Wasn't sure which forum to put this, but the website http://www.peaktrail.net has a lot about nature and the trails just below the Peak. The website itself is constructed a little strangely but if you click the dots in a sort of sequence there is a lot of interesting information. Plus, when the weather is good, it's a great way to spend a Sunday.

And we're getting towards the time of year when there may just be a hope of getting a view from the Peak!
Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out and meet the bloody thing!

Mate, I did the Dragon's back at Shek O last Sunday and the niew was not too bad... still, I can't wait for some really clear days... *sighs, looks out window and can barely make out Kowloon*

If history is any indicator...these already are the "clear days". Now if we can just shut down the factories across the border...

It was November last year that I last saw a view from the Peak, there may have been days since then that there's been clear weather but none when I've been up there!

A good hike is Lamma - get the ferry from Aberdeen, get off at the first Pier, up the hill, turn left walk down through the village then take the right up the stairs next to to the toilet block. Follow that all the way to the top then across Mt Stenhouse. takes about 2.5 hours great for a clear day (if your lucky!)
