Welcome to HK Nicolas. I cannot help you with a flat, but wish you well. I think your maximum is reasonable for a single bedroom flat. Where will you be working? Maybe you need to say that too. HK and territories aren't that big, but due to congestion, travelling can be a chore.

Hi Nicolas
Same starting date as me.... I just came back home from HKG and had a look at some appartements in different areas. ui ui ui.....pretty small rooms, pretty ugly bathroom... very noisy area (HKG island) but fantastic high rent. The appartements I checked out were between 60 m2 and 80 m2 (2 bed room). The rent was around HKD 18'000 I decided to eather look for a roommate or take a service appartement and take the time to find an appartement which really suits me. Once you rent an appartement you can not quit for a year.... since I will work at north point (about 10 minutes per taxi from kowloon station) I will look for an appartement on kowloon side. You can send me an email if you are interrested in sharing an appartement with a 35 years old Swiss female (german and french speaking) mailto:mailto:

Ahem, North Point is not on Kowloon side, but on HK Island..... Will cost you a small fortune if you do Kowloon Station to North Point by Taxi every day....

You can easily find a flat share for that budget.
If you don't wish to share it's also realsitic to find a small flat for that budget. I pay HK$8000 a month for a decent small two bed flat in a modernish (12 years old) building in Kennedy Town.
This should also be possible in North Point, though I don't know the area well.

Bonjour, Nicolas,
Si tu n'as pas encore trouvé de logement, tu peux me contacter par e-mail car j'ai une très grande chambre à louer d'environ 20m2 avec salle de bains privée dans un grand apartement avec jardin aussi privé à Pokfulam.
Salut! Jack

yes, and north point to kowloon station will take a lot more than 10 minutes especially in rush hour traffic!
