Fran, look at many apartments in different districts before you make a committment.

Fran, if you are referring to "Island Resort" in Chai Wan, I've seen 1st hand it is v. modern. Has v. nice recreational facilities, exceptional outdoor pool, gym, bowling alley, the works... Depending on where you work, it could be a little out of the way... Chai Wan is the extreme west of hong kong island MTR subway/underground line. If you are intending to rely on public transport, verify your bus & minibus options before making commitment.
Can't really comment on the cost being reasonable or not without having exact info on the available living space... V. important to get the figure for how may square meters the appt is!

yabadaba...you're facing the wrong way.
Chai Wan is the extreme EAST of HK island.

It's an easy mistake to make. Quite often, on my way to church, I get confused and end up in Lan Kwai Fong.
Guess I just have no sense of direction.

Just to confuse matters further and the OP hasnt been back,
Fran, I wonder if you actually mean Park Island resort, Ma Wan Island? Although resort is not a word I would use in connection with an development in Hong Kong.

Ma Wan is a 20-25 minute direct ferry ride to Central certainly no farther than Chai Wan.
No queues and no crowded boats, so will always have a seat, nice landscaped gardens surrounding housing, and no private vehicles. Almost as nice as DB.

ok, Park Island is on Ma Wan island, nr the Tsing Ma bridge. which is entirely different to your place, most probably Island Resort, Siu Sai Wan Road, Siu Sai Wan, HK Island.
here is a link to a map http://www.centamap.com
Now what was the question ???
Is it nr the American Club? which premises?
at rush hour about 30-35mins mins away, via mtr, to the Central site. And about the same time to the Tai Tam premises.
glad we got that sorted - next!
