chubby, is there a reason why you don't want a full-time, live-in helper? It's quite difficult to get a legal part-timer who can also speak good English.

Basically if you only want part time, it means local people. No offence intended but this will normally mean a local Chinese woman (as they don't need a work permit) who does not speak very good English and will only work the hours that are good for her. I have a couple of friends who are in this position and they say its a pain in the A%$E. Whenever they want something extra there is always an issue as they already have work somewhere else to do.

If you have got any problems with this site send them to Support@HKExpats.com Thanks

hknet> yeah how I wish I can hire a full time helper...but live-out, we are having a baby soon, and we need extra room. And also I am home almost the time so I dont need somebody who stays with me the whole day. I just want the house be cleaned and then done...I do cooking though so its no reason to get a full time.

serverguy>I already came across into that matter...the only thing that p**ses me with locals is when you teach them to do the things the way you want, then they will get mad(normally) well anyway I think I dont have luck with this thing.

Thanks guys:)

8 ball> thanks for your input..I hope those really have a real permanent visa....you know I came across of many of them(from the other site) because i have been looking for a long time.....they always said they have a legal visa over the phone (maybe expecting not to be serious with it) but I always make sure that I will find ways to find out if its true(bec I dont want to have a problem in the future...) but sad to say I find out many are not telling the truth, I interviewed at least 4 persons(that months ago)but when I said, "okey you can start next week" and look straight in her eyes....and then suddenly I will say can I see your HK ID, just want to see your full name...and then she will say sorry I think I forgot it in my other bag...and will say have to go and show you next time she comes...and then cant contact anymore....so upseting you now....but then I thought I think its really hard....and now I give up.

But anyway thanks for your input...maybe this can help with others.
