I'm curious. Would sleeping with your good friend, of the opposite gender, change things dramatically for you? Can two people (man and woman) who are good friends still maintain that good friendship after having shared some intimacy? They say curiousity killed the cat. I think I might have about 5 lives left.

I am going way, way, back here. But my bestest friend in the last two years of schooling was a male. And yes, we eventually "did it". But it was at some type of different level that did not translate into a proper male/female relationship.
We are still great friends though - the friendship was more important. I don't know if that could happen between fully fledged adults though ... the young are more adaptable.

Sex changes nothing. It's the emotional state and reaction of the people involved, before and after, that determines any change in a friendship. Specifically, it's differences in emotional state that will cause awkwardness or negativity.
Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

I did. When it was over we were still good friends but I made the extra effort to maintain a distance.

if you do head down that track, then there are obvious feelings for each other. despite the few who say it's just sex, do it a few times, share a few dinners, go out on dates, hold hands a few times, watch tv, wake up on sunday morning together and you've got a man-woman thing happening.
just friends - nah.
my bet is you are crazy about each other and i look forward to reading the story about your honeymoon.

Velvet, to amend for my faux pas on the other thread, I post here, to the total disgust of serverguy I might add. Just to see your thread hit the 20 mark. And also to tell you that friends and sex CAN mix. It depends on your attitude to both....
