Visitor brought me a local (from hometown) paper and on p11 is an article entitled "Failure to climax may weed out worthless men".
The gist is, scientists from the St Thomas' Hospital in London did some research on the ability of women to climax during sex, using identical and non-identical twins. NO - it was not a body-to-body reseach, it was via surveys of roughly 2,000 identical twins and 2,000 non-identical twins, combined with a DNA survey.
Results? 14% of women studied had an orgasm every time they made love, one in three never or seldom did. 60% of the difference between these two groups was put down to the genes they were born with.
"The scientists think there must be a reason for this variation in women which probably has an evolutionary origin. Men, in contrast, almost always orgasm - surveys show that only 2 per cent fail to do so.
A leading theory is that, far from being a defect, the failure of some women to orgasm regularly is a refined mate-selection tool.
Only men who are most skilled in the art of sex, physically attractive, or psychologically compatible will be able to make them climax.
These are the men they are most likely to stay with, and who would be expected to make the best long-term partners.
Women who orgasm too easily may really be the ones with the problem, the theory suggests. They are more likely to be satisfied with men of inferior quality."

Saw the article in the SCMP last week - similar topic, but they didn't put the same conclusion. Suggested that the women who couldn't, also had great difficulty on their own. They also suggested that, if she could bring herself there, and he couldn't - then maybe he was the problem and not the genetics.

Some further quotes along those lines, sws.

And ...
"The female orgasm was still shrouded in mystery [the scientist] said.
'There's so little research on the female orgasm: it's a taboo subject ... It's very difficult to get funding for it, and for some reason it's treated very differently to male impotence.' "
I don't know why he is so surprised!!! I wonder if this topic has sent our google ratings into the mature level, lol.

I wonder if the frequency is related to the intensity? Do you think that the more often you can have them the less intense they are? Or is it the other way around? They should have asked some questions about that.

i was going to publish this last week...and then thought, maybe i shouldn't...but i think it sort of fits in with the subject at hand.
there is a new book called "the case of the female orgasm" by elisabeth a. lloyd. the agenda of the book is 'what is the purpose of female orgasm'
i would have thought it was for pleasure. maybe i am a little simplistic? lol

Not simplistic, just male poor thing *smiley*.
I would love the males on this site to give a report on their ability to create orgasms with their partners, but I guess hell will freeze over before that happens *wicked grin*.

I am still aught up in the selection process idea....can't wait to show to BF.Seriously,
the male impotence thing is like most social issues ,concerned with reproduction/inheritance/property ... whereas you don't need to climax to get pregnant alas

Beware, Miss P, pregnancy can occur with pre-ejaculation material from the male. That is one reason why the "I will pull out in time" version of contraception was never viable.

to answer your question GT...i have had no probs' in giving partners orgasm!
it's quite easy really...there is no greater pleasure in life than pleasing my partner/s :-) the hardest part is learning how to sleep with your eyes open and to make indiscriminate noises as to give the appearance that i am really listening to what she is saying :-)

hmmmmmm that does remind me of something...maybe best not told here. anyway, even if all us blokes posted on this thread saying that we are wonderful, caring, giving lovers who wont stop until are partners are satisfied before we even think about our own orgasm....none of you would believe us! hahahahahahaha :-)
