I agree CB - Hangzhou is my second favourite place in China so far. I liked the ancient bonzai plants ... is that the same garden?
I have to say Li Jiang is my favourite. But ... I can't wait to explore the north west too.

There is also a West Lake in Huizhou (Waichau), much closer to HK.

I visited Xihu a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic, although you couldn't see to the other side of the lake. It must've been a magical place in the days before smog came to town.
