I'm relocationg back to UK and will terminate my housing contract EARLY. It's really great in Central and walking distance to Soho and LanKwaiFong, 5mins and 10mins respectively.
Bus stop in front of building and MTR closeby, 3 supermarkets in the neighborhood area.
I've bought the furniture and stuff so can leave it behind...all furnitures brand new 2mths only from IKEA. Cable and broadband all here - so you can take over too.
Central, Hollywood Rd (5mins walk from Soho and 10mins from LanKawiFong) Excellent Brand Newly refurbished & newly decorated apartment on 12/F Price: HK$9000 Size:1 Bed 420sq ft Available: From 20th June 2006

It's 100% GFA (GROSS FLOOR AREA) for the 400sq ft. These days apartments built by HK developer only has 70% GFA. You should check IKEA brochure, to get a decent mattress plus bed frame will cost around HK$3000 - HK$4000, unless you get those low-value ones.
I'm an EXPAT not Landlord, I'm only trying to see if anyone wants to takeover this apt, therefore it is not up to my discretion to give DISCOUNT...
FOR YOUR INFORMATION: Manhanttan at Shuen Wan, Queens Rd Central 2beds PRICE: HK$15,000 size 400sq ft and actual size is only 75% of that. (REALLY BIRDCAGE)
Hollywood Terrace is slighly bigger but also around HK$13000 minimum. These quoted prices are all UNFURNISHED. I spent 5months doing house-hunting in Central and Sheun Wan, and have lived at Service Apt so I know what is the Housing Market.
Don't think anything lower than HK$8000 is liveable you should see the state of the housing. Other <HK$8000 are mostly unfurnished or really horrible...it's great you have other properties that you think it's valuable and with furnished that is pretty central.

you may know the housing market but you dont have common sense......who would pay for such a birdcage such money? you should be crazy........
then again many HK'ers do so for such spaces.
wer expats and dont mind living a bit further away, in a "living area" rather then in choking Central!
I'm not under the alkafluence of inkahol that some thinkle peep I am. It's just the drunker I sit here the longer I get."

Hi carolhuang & welcome to the forums.
Have you got any photos? My fiancee and I might be interested. I'll discuss it with her when she gets home from work tonight.

Thank you very much - feel better after reading your msg. Thanks for the tips at ParkNShop - will do that.
The contract ends next Feb, but I have to leave HK end of June. Let me know when your friend arrives.
Cheers

Unfortunately, alot of the expad who works in Central and IFC works crazy hours until midnight. It's too tiring to commute...and the nearest hangout places Soho or LKF happens to be in Central...NO CHOICE But better than Serv Apt - which cost HK$17000/mth and can't open windows for fresh air...

Carol did you sign a two year contract or 1 ? If you signed a two you may have a break lease clause which means you can leave after a year
I will mention it to my friend when he gets here.. he lands today

Rent started Feb 06, 1yr fix and 2nd year flexible. I've been staying to Serv Apt since last summer, and was so glad to find this great place but unfortunately I have to go back. Thanks - Rack you're being very helpful.

Of course, check with your landlord/ contract whether there are any clause against subletting or taking over your lease.

Thanks for the tips. There is no sub-letting, its purely take over - Landlord fully ok.

I'm sure everyhting will become clear if anyone on this site considers Carols gaff and has to review the paperwork. If Carol is the Landlord, then I suspect the perspective tennant will walk as starting a term off on a lie, doesnt bode well.

those folks are pretty dumb then if they work so crazy hours that a half an hour bus ride wears them down so much that they feel they dont have alife anymore!
am i happy that i am able to work pretty normal hours, pay a reasonable rent for a reasonable amount of space....and on top of that, also have a life!!

cookie you have no idea it seems; I used to pay nearly that, just off Cain Road, brand new building, 3 minutes walk from the office, no bigger than 350-400sqf; being alone at the time and traveling like a fool that was perfect to me; If I would have to be alone for a longer time I would do just that again: why would you need a 1000sqf flat? play hide-and-seek with who ? more space to catch c0ckroaches?
