Don't let Mango worry you mona. He's mad, who has a bee in his bonnet about new people, Chinese people, Filipino people; in fact people in general.
There's a lot of public housing in Aberdeen. Not sure what other accommodation is available. It's certainly worth having a look there though if you'll be working there.
You might also try Ap Lei Chau, which is not too far away. There are plenty of expats in South Horizons for example.

Simon and me live in Ap lei chau, Souty Horizons ...(not together ....just for the record!)
and its a reasonably nice place to live, especially when its typhoon season, hgo and see the waves.....more fresh air here than in many other places...well....fresh.....i'd say fresher...
I'm not under the alkafluence of inkahol that some thinkle peep I am. It's just the drunker I sit here the longer I get."

I agree, we used to live in South Horizons too, and it's very pleasant with good facilities. Very convenient as it's only a few minutes by bus to aberdeen...
We moved to Discovery Bay, but that would not be convenient if you work in Aberdeen
. Even sick puppies need love...

I moved my office and warehouse to the outskirts of Aberdeen so I go there almost daily. It has really really changed. They even have a Fortress, Sasa and a P N Shop Superstore.
I'm seeing more and more expats running around too now. Not sure where they work.
Lots of new hi rise flats that have central air (no aircon units hanging out the wiindows) so I think it's becoming a new Ap Lau Chau

We do all our shopping in Aberdeen at the wet market (which is great) and a really good Park'n'shop as Chicago mentions. Also a great Japanese and Thai restuarant. We love it and would gladly move into the area if we could find a place big enough.
Even 12 months back we used to be the only gweilos walking around Aberdeen on a saturday morning - now we regularly see other couples.
I did hear that a few years back there was a spate of people buying an industrial unit and converting them into a 'New York' style loft apartment but i'm not sure if it's true.
