Not much of a debate, but I went to the racing in HK last night and we were talking about the cost of land and how much the whole of Happy Valley race track would be worth to a developer. A people of people came up with a statement or two. One was that it must be the most expensive horse track in the world. The second being that just one of the football pitches in the middle of the trace is probably worth more than Man Utd's group which holds thousands. What do you think ?

im think that as it is it values the surroundings higher as you have air and view, once the track convcerts into building land, all prices there will collapse, because its not the buildings that attrct people!

anyway HK is way over priced and i dont understand why they build closer and closer together in urban areas, why dont they create more steelite towns l;ike tung chung further away? so people can live better and a bit further away of the craze of HK?

I'm not under the alkafluence of inkahol that some thinkle peep I am. It's just the drunker I sit here the longer I get."

The track is very good with great views and the big jumbotron screen helps when the horses are at the other side of the course. We went posh and payed to go into "Stable Bends", you get a buffet for a fixed price where you can eat and drink all you like. Its out in the open, but under a covered roof with fans everywhere to keep you a little cooler. As for Shatin, nope never been there, we keep saying we will go, it just never happens.

been to both Happy Valley and Shatin...private or whatever box functions both times ,wow they have their own little tote offices to take your money more easily. Both have spectacular views but no leather and horse sweat smells like the saddling enclosures in Oz ... ,actually necessary to get a real 'feel' for the nags in my view.Reckon the jockeys/owners take it in turn to win by pre arrangement ,having watched a few ponies in my day...reckon you are too far up to really see much ...its more a stab in the dark for (expensive) fun from up in the clouds here as a punter...anyway the food was fab both times but i got a crook oyster at Shatin ,first time in ages ,and I stupidly swallowed as sitting next to my man's boss didn't want to spit out ,how dumb was I , then sick for 3 days...

been to Jockey Club in Sheung Shui....I love giving carrots to the horses....and see them when they train them running and jumping on fences...and I like the crispy noodles as well....

I really can't imagine how come this jockey club grew big so fast? is it because of the so called "gamble"....well....

"honesty the best medicine..."HECK!!!
