No experience, but CX & SQ frequently do fares comparable with Jetstar (i.e. about HK$1000 return).
I believe Jetstar are fine in terms of safety as they owned by Qantas.

Not for next weekend, and it is high season now for them; it is not so much the fare but the return schedule I want that is surrently not available on CX and SQ.

I used em, no biggie...but really only saving you a little and the times arent great.
whatever, I just find the concept of paying for my coca cola on a flight a bit strange..haha

CAG,
Do you know about food/drink (very impt for a 3+ hour flight)? Any booze included? They also have two fare levels - makes sense to get the saver at half the price of the regular.

JC,
You have to pay for food n drink? The schedule coming back at 3:45 pm from Sing (you can pick the 11+ am dep not 6 am) is not strange.
UA is the one with the bad schedule.

I used them once. I think budget airlines are good if your travel is flexible or you book way ahead. One-way is also relatively cheaper, too.
Don't remember much about it so it can't be THAT bad!
How funky is your chicken?

United also fly that route.
Oops just seen your coment. I actually like the UA schedule because I can get a very early flight Monday morning & still be in work for most of the day.

I've flown Jetstar domestically in Australia a couple of times. It real cattle-class and the service is woeful to non-existent. But they'll get you there safely.
Don't expect any mercy if you're running a couple of seconds late.
