The cuts are different here too. I get lamb loin chops at great expense from the local pns and they are waaayyyy too huge for my liking. And I think they are not kept at the right temperature, because they go "off" within a day or two in the fridge. I suspect they haven't been kept at a 3 degrees or below temp since arriving.

Haven't read all the posts - almost knock-off time so am keen to say my peace and log off.

Hubby worked for Cathay so we had huge luggage allowance on flights. ALWAYS used to stock up to the hilt on meat on every trip back from Oz. Would bring in beef, lamb, fish and chicken. My mum would freeze them for a few days (so they got really rock solid hard) and then just put them in some Eskys and checked them in to HK. Must've done this at least 20 times in the past 4 years. NEVER got one question walking through customs with 3 or 4 Eskys bulging on my trolley, wheeling it right under their noses.

i have no problem bringing in food here....

meat is a diff story though specially if you are about 12 hours away. if you check it in then i think the airlines are wash their hands incase it spoils.

it's easier to bring in frozen stuff if the thing stays frozen after all those flying hours.

It's probably a personal problem of me, I and myself.
I never liked the taste of meat after it has been frozen. Only okay for using it afterwards as soup meat or in stews (carbonades).
Any suggestions? What do I do wrong?
Or are my taste buds way too sensitive?

Thannks everyone for your posts. Froze all my snags and carried it through as hand luggage. No questions asked by anyone! Now I am just trying not to cook them all at once! Much appreciated to everyone that helped to put my mind at ease.
