AliceSee> Did you re-read your other thread that I reposted here 3 days ago? In that thread, there are links for maps and public transportation, which also have maps on them and you can find out about places, in relation to areas you may need to go to as well as deciding how easy it is transportation-wise.

Yes it is convenient for Kowloon, as bbc girls says above , she's posted links with public transport maps. The KCR goes to TST, (about 35 - 40 mins from Tai Po). There are lots of decent housing estates in Tai Po, the one I mentioned previously, Hong Lok Yuen is good with rents starting at about 20k. In Lam Tsuen, on the other hand, there are only village houses, (no security or clubhouse etc). But as it is close to Hong Lok Yuen its a very popular area for expats as there is a decent very "western" supermarket close by. You could get a 700sq foot apt here for about 5k, or a three storey house with garden etc for around 12k+. If my Co was paying my housing I'd go for a bloody big house with private pool in HLY . Have a browse through gohome.com, that'll give you a pretty good idea of what's available.
