Whilst I'm stuck in UK doing UK type things (pies, beer, footie, fat girls) I think I better do something a bit useful.
A mates parents are coming to HK for holiday and related birthday celebrations. Sound folks not short of a bob or two. Looking at hotels they can afford HK$1500 a night and such but they think it's pointless to pay for 10 nights in a gaff with saunas, bizzniss centers and such that they won't use.
So does anyone have a recommendation of something pretty centrally located but suitable? I was thinking of a smart apartment or some boutique type hotel that might be a bit special.
Ta, LT

Try L'Hotel in Tin Hau.
They've been offering some good rates because it's new (HK$650 or so). It's also pretty nice, though the rooms are quite small. There's a pool on the roof and good views towards Causeway Bay & Central.
I going to recommend it to my folks when they're out here later in the year.
Or there's always the JIA in Causeway Bay, if they want a better place and are willing to pay quite a bit more.

another option is the bishop lei - not the best hotel, but they were doing a suite promotion for locals who stayed more than five days - worked out at about 800 per night for a suite with one of the best views in town... you need to ask about it and i have no idea if it is still on offer...
probably not that much help really...

Marco P might be quite a good venue if they're there during the Oktoberfest malarky.
