avoid sentosa like the plague... there are so many nice beaches in asia - if its a beach you want, pick somewhere else....

for me, the best thing about singapore coming from hong kong is al fresco dining and hanging out.... hotels there tend to be good, rather than great... i like the fullerton, ritz carlton and four seasons myself...

stay at the raffles if you can afford it.

Sabrina, don't just stare at it. Eat it.

Night Safari at the Zoo is really good

http://www.nightsafari.com.sg/

The Merlion is the symbol of Singapore - a statue is located somewhere on the waterfront

I have a cunning plan ........

Food - best thing about Singapore. East Coast Seafood centre and Sam's curry house.

Yeah, I hear the night safari at the Zoo is a must-see in Singapore. And don't forget the food in Orchard Road.

Precisely what I like to do. Walk around (slowly) and choose from several places to eat outside or in. I love Singapore but I've never lived there.

Why? Why?

I like it because it is very user friendly - people don't run into you, or touch you. They all speak English. Better entertainment venues, better department stores, better priced medical check ups. Al fresco dining.....

I do hate the mold smell that is in a lot of the bldgs tho. That is one big drawback for me.
The service in restraurants can be as bad or worse than here because they don't want to be servers there so it's lax.

I am pretty sure that I'd like living there except for the non stop heat.
