Help on how to find an apartment in HK [ New Topic]

Is there a nice and reliable website I might look into to have idea of apartments in HK island?

Any suggestion of real estate agencies I might ask directly in HK?

My office is located in "central", but I would like to avoid the "madding crowd" and go for more residential areas. South HK island looks nice, but how much expensive is it renting a, say, 100 sqm apartment?

Thank you for your help!

B.

Not at all - if you look at Centaline's Transaction Records you can see the most recent selling / letting prices and this is based on information gathered from Hong Kong Land Registry

i'm not talking about the recent transactions...i'm talking about the asking prices etc....take it with lot of salt (and i wasn't even talking about that website, rather a different one that was listed)

Very good! Thank you all guys!

Barganing is not always my cup of tea, but I understand it is necessary. I hate when real estate agents ask me what is my budget... If I can spend 100, and I say 100 they will make me pay 100 or more!!!
The fact is that I would like to pay a market price.

Just for my guide and based on your direct experience, what kind of range price should I reasonably expect to pay for a 2/3 apartment in a residential area in HK island?

In any case, I shall follow an iper-sodium diet

there's no easy answer to your question...far too many variables including: size, location, facilities to name only a few

the question is not what should you pay, but rather what are you comfortable affording....

the answer i guess is somewhere between 10k and 150k...

Dear B.

Getting a comfy home in H.K can make your stay here more meaningful and without a good local agent makes this difficult to realise. Our agency in Tsim Sha Tsui may assist you in finding a right flat and meanwhile I can send you some information regarding the buildings you intend to rent. You may call me at 61703363 or email to info@landspert.zip.io to find out more.
Best regards
Kelly

Hi all..

Im looking to move to HK in search of a job. Given that there will be no salary, Im looking for a serviced apt that costs around 8k. Any suggestions of serviced apartments I can contact or is this price unrealistic?

Any help is greatly appreciated.....thanks

Hey supersonic, welcome to the HKExpats.

Remember, that if you don't already have one, you will need a work permit to work in HK. They can not the simplest to get unless the company your working for a) will apply for you and b) the job your going to do cannot be filled by local staff. So make sure you know what you could be getting into !!!

Good Luck

If you have got any problems with this site send them to Support@HKExpats.com Thanks

the gohome.com link is useless for you as you can't rent anything without HK ID card.
