The stuff I use is called XYLOPHENE.
It is water based, easy to use, safe and guaranteed for 10 years...so far, it's given protection for 4 years with no problems.
I bought it from my local hardware store. Around HK$120 for a litre. That and a cheapo brush should be fine.

It's not the concrete jungle you need to be worried about...there are a plenty of termites around in the real one.
I don't think it's a major problem as such, but they can occur in the home, and I know of one guy who lost his sailing junk to the little beasts.

We had termites in the old office - we had a new build office put in an old building shell - within a year they'd ate half the way through the office block - first we new about it a sink collapsed into its work unit. Bastard little buggers.

are HK termites the same size? I think they are light brown and around 1cm long?

i am talking about the tiny wood bugs not the one from the deserd building 5 m high sand piramids.
i have a table i got from africa and i can see some wood dust on the floor every morning so i suspect there are
little termites in side which need treatment

Sounds more like wood worm
Xylophene should do the trick though
Hung like Einstein and IQ of a horse.

Xylophene is multi usage, so covers any wood boring insects.
