Has anyone been?
I really need help in locating a good hotel. There are just too many and I don't know what area is right (will be spending time primarily at the various theme parks).
Any help is much appreciated.

Hello
Been there twice, great for small and BIG Kiddies!! I usually book Holiday Inn, they are resonable priced and have facilities for kids and are near the theme parks. I remember there was one near most of the parks there.
But if you're going in Oct and Nov (expect the halloween period) then i would suggest you either check their site or ask someone in the US to check on packages with their resorts, its their low season so you might get a better deal there since they have regular free bus services linking their resorts with the parks..

TB, thanks, I don't think the Marriott is what I'm looking for.
Lake Buena Vista area looks about right.
ish, thanks, I will look into it. I'm going in December (for New Year's) and there will only be big kiddies...

Stayed in one of the Best Western Hotels on the main strip nearby. Cheap and nasty, avoid like the plague...

Mazz
was there years ago, the hotels associated with Disney are very pricey but check out Orlando town sites -there should be plenty of choices. Try travelocity.com. try orbitz.com - they are pretty good. Is this after Puerto Rico? Are you heading north by any chance? Like NY? If you are let me know, you must come visit.
I am an American - born and bred. And I wouldn't want it any other way.

Kissimee is close and the hotels are cheaper there. It is a short drive from the area.
