Is it truly worth the hassle of me trying to do a garage sale type thing? Many people have said that you get very little for your money so rather than do that and there is no need to ship an apt full of furniture that I don't need - can anyone recommend a charity to donate too? I assume i can google and find the salvation army and stuff but is there any sort of special agency? My relocation agent isn't really advising either way and i would much rather give the stuff which is in excellent condition despite three cats and a messy husband to a needy family.

Thanks.

Donate to the salvation army, Oxfam etc. I think they pick up .
Or, advertise on here for give away furniture if the people come to collect at their expense.
I would try selling first, but then I'm tight.

i was just going to say, if anyone needs anything in particular, let me know ... all stuff except one bed which i would trash, is brand new ... all light woods and suede furniture ... some white ... second bed is brand new matress, etc and frame is iron, comes with matching mirror ... have lots of funky book cases and stuffs ...

plus the usual electrical appliances - all fairly new and rarely used (we hardly cook) ....as well as a watson's water thing ... so there is a lot i can pm pix of stuff to whoever is interested ....

don't think you'd like our dishwasher cause that would be me ... as for the wardrobe what I am gonna do is meet with the landlord tonite and whatever he doesn't buy first, which i highly doubt, i will post pix as pm's to you and we can figure it out after that ..

i have two nice wardrobes actually - mr h is quite fond of them because the wood is a light wood so we may take them - not sure -

sorry folks, the landlord has decided he will buy everything that we don't want and rent out the space again as a fully furnished corporate flat- so pretty much everything is accounted for except a toaster oven and a blender. I will give those away to anyone who wants them ....
