Hi All,
Im moving to HK in feb, and am coming over next week to check out some places to live. Any tips on the best way to check out a few places ? Should I get in touch with an agent ? Any suggested web sites ?
I was thinking about $28,000 as a max budget. Can I get a two bed for this ?
cheers

www.gohome.com.hk ~ click on the appropriate button for English version of the site.
You'll need to consider where you'll be working in terms of commute time etc. Good luck and welcome to HKxp!

Sorry ~ just realised you're looking for a serviced apartment, so that gohome website won't be much use to you. There have been quite a few threads here at HKxp so if you do a search you should be able to find some useful info.

serviced apartment initially or on a long term basis matt? would think there's no need for an agent as there are very few serviced apartments out there...
try the shama group... they have a few locations and tend to be of reasonable quality...

You may try Shama.com.hk or Gatewayapartments.com.hk but gateway will be more expensive, it's the top service apartment in tonw. Hope can help

As suggested Shama Serv. Appartments are good for 1-6 months rent whilst you discover Hkg and decide where to live. Most Tenancy Agreements contracts run for 1 to 2 years with 2 month rental deposit to cover for future damage of property. Good luck.
28k is sufficient for 2 bedroom new property in Central. Nett square foot is what you should go by as some bedrooms can be tiny. 28k should get you Gross 850sf or approx Nett 500sf (same as London prices)

Matt,
Well, you can check out some serviced apartment web-site, such as www.serviceapartmentnow.com www.bloeman.com
most of the serviced apartments here offer clubhouse as well. or you can just google "serviced apartment hong kong"
