Do you think the Brazilian guy who was shot by mistake could pass off for an Arab/Middle-easterner/light Indian/Paki?

I guess if you look at the voting results before voting the system doesn't allow you to come back and vote? Maybe somthing to be fixed by the admins. Or otherwise include a warning.
(Nope Sabi, still doesn't work).

In London underground stations there are big posters telling you not to run if you are dark, etc....(fitting the profile of a terrorist).
Two friends from London in town, they were close to the bombings - one at mtr station, the other's kid was one bus ahead of the one bombed. Now both are in fear of riding public transportation. People have changed their habits. The dark one is more careful not to conform to the profile of the "terrorist." And I just served him a vegetarian meal, not even eggs....

I'd didnt peek at the results, I just click the new link and that opened the page showing and messages - no chance to vote.
We will consume 85 million barrels of oil today, what's going to be left for tomorrow?

Poor guy was really a victim of racial prejudice, major cock-up and cover-up by the system. No padded jacket with wires, no jumping over the turnstile, no panicking, it remains to be answered whether he was challenged by Police and refused to stop as the Police Commissioner claimed. 11 shots fired 8 into the guy while he was already pinned down.

That would be like saying that all people from aisa look alike. Or all Africans look alike. The only way a person can be that blatantly mistaken (imho) is when people who are not exposed to other cultures and peoples are the ones making the judgement. Some people say that mexicans look like arabs. that is utter bullocks. But at first glance to a person who has not been exposed to both types of people then yes you can make that mistake.

i went to london for 2 days after the bombing..life is the same as usual..people dont really care if they will live or die, today or tomorrow..i mean they still have to pay the mortgage, don't they? as for meneses and those who perished from the bombings..i read fron the papers, that they will all be well compensated..but meneses will get the "lion's share" which is something like 500-800K.. so, expect for an increase of uk tax in the coming years..

Life,
Sadly, what you say is the reality - people, especially those in positions of authority and power of life and death over others (e.g. the police in this case) are less travelled and knowledgeable than they should be, so prejudice prevails. Tragic.
Maranatha,
Getting compensation the lion's share cannot bring life back. Not implying that a poor person (born of the ghetto in Brazil) would feel better than a European over blood money, are you?
Life is not so normal, and people I know who used to travel by the tube are driving, biking, taking other transport, even moving away from the city, or closer to work. Habits are now being scrutinised; you think twice about running after a train. Posters in the underground warn people fitting a profile to be extra careful, not to run or do things that might raise suspicion. That is not normal life.
New measures are coming into force that will further challenge the concept of civil rights as people know them especially people from certain backgrounds and cultures.
