No partying for me, had a looooooooong day yesterday ~ two performances during the day; then a rather late evening out! So I am resting up this evening at home with my bubbies. And you??

I don't want to sound parochial or whatever ... but how the heck do you extreme northerners actually have NY celebration in the rain and muck? When you could be chillin' at the beach or on a boat watching the fireworks? Just feeling sorry for myself. Apologies for offence and all that.

hey who carefull there, why you complaining again? you wanted to go there right? now deal with it, and some people (like myself) like it cold and wet and windy in the winter, and i'd really not like to have my xmas tree set up on a fooking warm beach with surfers around etc...

try and learn from the people there how they celebrate it, keep warm, turn on your fireplace, drink gluhwein, eat some nice game meat, buy lo0ads o fireworks to light up after 12 etc etc

Where there is a will i want to be in it!

Bah, humbug.

I had turkey at lunch today. There's a reason people only eat it once a year, you know.

Was at Marriott Café for extended family lunch, there was roast beef and turkey at the carving station so I thought I'd try turkey again to see what all the fuss is about and whether or not I could possibly have been wrong about it all these years and hey, I wasn't. It's like chicken, only more boring.

I will probably have noodles for dinner, assuming I haven't exploded between now and then. What is it about buffets that make you eat far more than you do normally, even after it starts to get painful? I wasn't even paying so it wasn't as if I wanted my money's worth or anything. I must just be exceptionally greedy.

Shut up, Chichi.

I think buffets here are just stupid. Most of the "expensive" food is frozen stiff or the live lobster as they promote are actually Indo slipper lobster - it's just a big hype because locals seem to thrive on buffets.

Whenever they have anything of decent value like fresh oysters being shucked, they make sure there are almost none open so you have to wait for them thus keeping the cost down because people are embarrassed to wait for more than one or two.

They generally use the cheapest of the cheapest of everything including salmon.

Lucky I'm common and prefer the cheap stuff, then. The best thing on offer at the buffet today was this sticky date/figgy pudding thing with brandy custard, ohhhh.... that was like sex on a plate, yum.
