Has anyone here by any chance ever lived in Casa Bella on Caine Road? I'm contemplating buying one of the units there and interested in any feedback on the building, surroundings (any noise problems?), management, security, can you get on buses there during the morning peak or are they already full, etc?

smog, i've been there quite a few times, the usable space is not all that good. in order to have better views for the two flats each floor design, the corridor inside is really long and thus waste a lot of space. but i have to say, the nite view is quite impressive if you are on very high floor.

management is quite good though, still looks very new (inside & out), and pets are allowed (if u are interested).

Thanks very much for that. The flat I have heard about is on 11th floor, so not very high...

And the pet thing is, if anything, a slight discouraging factor.

I lived there- its actually very nice.
Is it a 2 or 3 bedroom unit?
You can pm me if you want to know more, but I found it a great place to live.
A couple of things:

The swimming pool is only open about 5 months a year, and the sun only shines on the pool from 9-11 ish.
You have to pay for use of all pool/sauna/gym facilities.
The kitchens have a very drainy smell, that never seems to go away
They can be quite noisy. If someone is in the corridor waiting for the lift, you can hear every word they say. ( in my case, every bark the dog made)
Overall though, a great building.
Buses- very full, taxi, no chance after around 8.30 on Caine Rd in general, and if you are coming back home before 7pm, taxi's have to go Robinson Rd/Castle Lane due to the Caine Rd traffic restrictions.

EB, i'm afraid to say, you are not making the place any nicer for smog.

but smog, do take a look, it's not a bad place at all.

the transportation problem is huge, most mini buses arriving there are full on peak hours, little chance on taxis.
however, the escalator takes you to IFC in 15 mins

Thanks again. My problem is that my office is about to move from IFC to the Luk Kwok Centre, which is going to necessitate getting either a taxi or a bus/minibus that goes down to Wanchai. The escalator and then along from Central is a longer commute than I would put up with (yes I know I've been spoiled by the quick trot down the escalator into IFC in the morning).

I know something of the transportation problem - it's similar on Robinson where I live now...

Getting a taxi on caine road is an absolute no no in a morning but just a short walk onto Elgin/peel street and I always get one there.

smog, why don't u go further down, like those on hollywood or queen's road central/west, it's a lot easier to go to wanchai/anywhere from there. some buildings off hollywood are quiet and nice.

I know. And I am seriously contemplating whether I'll go with the move or look for another job in Central (or even give up the 9-5 completely and look for freelance writing etc.).

Of course... I seem to remember that the Buddha Bellies have a plan to win a couple more weeks and then spend the $1000 coupons on a Friday happy hour Moët session.

It makes me belch in a most unladylike fashion, Foth. And I genuinely don't like the taste of champers... I've always said I am a cheap date!

Spunky> Of course it takes practice to be this good at what I do best, daaaaaaahhhhlink...

Have you ever tried good stuff like Krug or Dom?
