Okey I came across to this Filipina girl(been back to a certain DH organization[:)])and she told me that she was terminated after 10 days that she arrived in her employers home, she is new to Hong Kong and she was hired through an agency and she paid 75K philippine peso, ,and after 10 days of working and the employer terminated here, which is so bad because she dont even know what to do here.
When she was telling me the story, I almost cry ([V][V]hmm...maybe because im pregnant and I am sensitive[:X]) so we asked her to go to the immigration and labour department, and luckily immigration listened well to her, and now she will have her first hearing with the employer.
My question is will you believe the employers statement that the maid was the one who broke the contract? I was been thinking all over, how can someone who is very new to a foreign country put herself into that kind of trouble if she will break her contract. She dont even know where the Philippine consulate is[:(].But some says maybe the employer owns secretly the agency[:(!]

i have this premonition that her employers are chinese, as they are the worst employers in this planet earth..lol.

And pray is not a Kangaroo court, where the judge, court clerk, sheriff are all his cousins, and uncles.
A new employee will always perform 120% until the probation is way out.

tell her to contact migrant workers group or the domestic helpers group at st. john's cathedral. they could give her some sort of support

Blowfish; not so, our helper watched TV constantly during her first month of service. THe moment I left the house, she turned on the tube and plopped her but down.

xyz> yes she already contacted certain organizations thats how I cam e across with her because sometimes I go into those organizations to extend some help that I could. And luckily the immigration and labour helping her well, and believe more on what she says than the employers( well who will believe that a new DH in HK will terminate her contract after 10 days) and the employer didnt give her anything when they asked her go down, not even an airticket and a one month notice, or a release paper(crazy huh?!)
yes maranatha her employers are chinese.
life> i dont think you can really see whats wrong with your DH when she is only working in your house for lets say 9 days, because you cant ask her right away to work after arrival. Besides she is very new here so need assistance and probation. Sigh....I still remember when she told me about how she pull down on her knees and beg the employer not to terminate her(imagine the feeling of somebody begging infront of you...this employer must have problem....[:(!])

actually the hubby wanted to install a web cam but I thought that was alittle too un-ethical as an employer. I think it is illegal in some states in the US to spy on your baby sitter.

mango you also have to know your rules sometimes....i know you can say its your home, but the Immigration and labour department doesnt allow them anymore.....its illegal in Hong Kong now. Although you can put the spy cameras everywhere in your home, but you have to declare it to your DH, thats the law.
