I could be proved wrong, - but I think Rodigan is correct. Apple control their prices in a way that most other brands don't. You can buy a 30GB iPod for maybe $100 bucks less than the $2400 list price in Wanchai (298 for example), but if it goes wrong, as they occasionally do, you will have so much more hassle with the warranty that it's really not worth the saving. Apple are quite good at replacing faulty iPods if you buy it from the Apple Shop, but from an independant computer shop.....good luck!
Overseas they are generally the same price, no matter which country you buy it in. As previously mentioned, your best bet is to try to squeeze a free gift or to buy online from apple HK, in which case you get free engraving, but delivery takes a few days.
