Default Replacement of HSBC Visa cards - 12th July 2005

Just curious - over the past week on separate instances i've had HSBC on the phone telling me they are going to replace my credit cards because of security issues in the US - apparently personal info has been compromised over the net.

Has anyone else received similiar calls & instructions ?

It was not just one type of card. The place that "Lost" the details was a card clearing house and had all sorts from Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners, etc
