Do you mean that you want to just take a train over the border to Lowu/Shenzhen. If this is the case then you need to get onto the KCR train at TST East KCR station or Hung Hom station which will take you to the border and then you walk over the border through immigration

Any station on the KCR will take you to Shenzhen.

http://www.kcrc.com/html/eng/index.asp

If you are only going to Shenzhen you need to get a train that goes to Lowu

For cheap hostel you could try Chungking Mansions which is very close to Tsim Sha Tsui East Station

Lowu is an area of Shenzhen

Don't confuse the person.. the bus border crossing is a nightmare and unless you are met by a driver at the other side it can be quite tricky

I would say the KCR is the easiest route for a tourist and it takes you straight into the Lowu shopping area

thanks for excellent help

if any KCR rail station will take me to Shenzen, which one is closest to the HK airport? I have heard that Fa Yuen is a good place to shop for clothes in HK....is there a KCR there or close?

I have also heard that I can get a visa once in shenzen instead of getting one before I leave HK. confirmation of this please?

Also please names of any tailors in China that you recommend? I am looking to start a business and want my designs made

cheers

Nearest (for ease of transfer) KCR to Airport would probaby be TST East.

Any good guide book e.g. Lonely Plant / Rough Guide will give you full details of transportation options.

Fa Yuen Street is in Mongkok and yes there is a KCR station nearby.

Visa - often depends on nationality but it would probably be better to get one organised in HK before travelling to Shenzhen

Tan, do you speak Contonese? If not, I suggest you partner up with someone who can... pretty hard to do business with people you don't understand, and who don't understand you... also, business in Asia is all about relationships... so lobbing in for a few days is not going to get you a whole lot of value in terms of business relationships. You're also heading into the greatest copyright infringement place on earth... be careful!

I think getting a China visa in Australia is preferable, at least you're organised before you start. What about Airport Express to Kowloon, taxi across to Austin Rd hotel next to cross border bus to Huang Gang? Follow the mob from the station, then cab from China side to your digs in Shenzhen. Again, best to arrange before you leave
